School Rules & Regulations

  1. Every student must possess a copy of the school handbook and it should be brought to the school daily and presented to the teacher as and when requested.
  2. Students must maintain the school calendar neatly . No fancy stickers may be stuck or pictures/designs drawn in the school calendar.
  3. No student/parent may tamper with the remarks given in the calendar. All remarks must be promptly signed by the parent.
  4. Parents may not write notes in the school calendar- Please use separate paper for this purpose.
  5. In case the student loses the calendar it must be promptly replaced with a new one which can be purchased at the school office

School Property

  1. Care must be taken to keep the school clean at all times. Litter must be disposed off in the dustbins provided.
  2. Students must take care of the school property. No scratches, writings or drawings may be made on the school furniture or walls.
  3. Damage done by accident must be reported to the class teacher. Students who willfully damage school property must make good the damage done.

Behaviour

  1. Students must respect and obey their teachers and School authorities at all times.
  2. Running, playing and shouting in the classrooms and corridors during study hours is forbidden. Students must not indulge in fights and physical and verbal abuse in school. Strict action will be taken against all students instigating and/or participating in such acts.
  3. Chewing chewing gum in the school premises is strictly forbidden. Students (Stds. II-XII) are not permitted in the classrooms during break time.
  4. Students may not go to the toilets or to drink water during class time. Such needs must be attended to during the break. However, if any student has a medical problem, the same must be brought to the notice of the class teacher / nurse in writing, with medical certificate attached.
  5. Students are not permitted to bring story books (other than school library books), magazines, picture books, video games, audio-video cassettes/DVD’s/CD’s, fancy items, CD players, Mobiles or Ipods to the school. Any such property found in the possession of the student will be confiscated by the school.
  6. All school leaders must be given due respect.
  7. Students must record and follow the specific instructions given by their teachers
  8. Students are not permitted to bring /use mobile phones. This rule is applicable for class, practices, Annual Day, Sports Day etc. Mobiles found in the possession of any student will be confiscated

Discipline

  1. Discipline is enforced in the school through Remarks, Warning Letters and Yellow Card,Green card and Red Card entries. All remarks must be signed immediately by the parent.
  2. Yellow card entries are made on the following grounds: grave indiscipline, damage to school property, acts of violence against fellow students, using abusive or obscene language, absenteeism on the first and last day of the Semester, on the last and opening day of the Summer / Winter break, important functions like Sports Day, Annual Day, the number of good/bad remarks, Principal’s Awards, loss of calendar, Parents’ attendance on Open House Days, Parent-Teacher Meetings, Exhibitions, Awards of Excellence etc are also recorded in the Yellow Cards. II time green card and third time we will give Red Card and terminated.
  3. It is the duty of the parents to sign the yellow card on all Open-House Days.

Maintenance of Study Materials

  1. All school books must be labelled and neatly maintained throughout the year
  2. Books must be brought according to the days timetable without fail.
  3. Students are not permitted to use whitener / correction pen in their note books/exam papers.
  4. Primary students are not allowed to bring metal rulers, metal scissors or compass and divider sets to school unless specifically called for by the teacher for Art/ Craft/ Aicvtity/ Maths class

School Timings

  1. Students Senior must be present in the school at 8.15 a.m. Classes commence at 8.30 a.m.(For Junior NUR to UKG school timing 9.00am to 1.00 pm)
  2. Students will not be permitted to enter class once the assembly has started at 8.20 a.m.
  3. Parents will not be allowed into the school premises after the first bell at 8.15 a.m.
  4. Students will disperse at 2.10 p.m. Parents/ Drivers coming to pick up their wards will not be permitted into the corridors/classrooms. They will have to wait in the designated areas for their wards.

Meeting the Staff

  1. The reporting time for all Staff members is 8.00 a.m.
  2. Parents seeking quick clarifications from the Staff, may meet them between 8.00 a.m. and 8.15 a.m. on school working days and after 12.30 on every Saturday.
  3. Parents are not permitted in the school corridors after 8.15 a.m. For any detailed meetings, parents are requested to meet the teachers after prior appointment.
  4. Under no circumstances may a teacher be disturbed in the classrooms. Parents must also make it convenient to meet the Principal/Manager/Teacher in case of such request by the school authorities. Failure to comply with such requests may result in the student being kept out of class.
  5. Parents may meet the Principal / Manager/ Counsellor by prior appointment.

PTM Meetings and Open House Days

  1. Parents must attend the scheduled PTM meetings and the Open House Days in the interest of their wards.
  2. All report cards will be handed over only to the parents/guardians. Under no circumstances will the report card be given to a student or any other unauthorized person.
  3. Under exceptional circumstances, if the parent would like the report card to be handed over to any other responsible person, the prior permission of the Principal has to be obtained and a letter of authorization must be given to the person concerned

Attendance and Leave of Absence

  1. All students must be present on the first day and last day of each term. Students must also be present on the re-opening day after the Summer/ Winter Break.
  2. In all cases of absence from school, the parent is expected to make a note in the specified section of the school calendar.
  3. Absence for 3 to 5 days on medical grounds must be accompanied by a medical certificate and should be sanctioned by the Coordinator. For any other absence of more than 5 days, the written sanction of the Principal is required.
  4. Students who are absent on the re-opening days after a Term/ holidays without prior permission from the Principal will not be permitted into the class.
  5. No student should leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal/Coordinator. Parents seeking to take their child/ ward during school hours must meet the Principal/ Coordinator for permission. Students will be permitted to leave the class during school hours only when the parent reports in person at the school reception and secures the necessary permission.
  6. Students will not be sent with drivers/ friends/ relatives without the written request of the Parent
  7. Students who have been absent for more than a month without permission are liable to have their names struck off the rolls and will have to seek re-admission.
  8. Students suffering from contagious diseases must stay away from school and seek medical attention. A student returning to school after suffering from an infection or a contagious disease should produce a fitness certificate from the doctor. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to class :
  • Chicken pox – Till scabs fall off
  • Cholera – Till the child is completely wellf
  • Measles – Two weeks after the rash disappears
  • Mumps – About one month, until the swelling has subsided
  • Whooping Cough – Six weeks after recovery
  • Jaundice – Six weeks after recovery
  1. It is compulsory for the students to complete 75% of attendance for the academic year, to make them eligible to sit for their final exams. The percentage however, could be relaxed on medical grounds but such students will not be eligible for any academic rewards.

Celebration of Birthdays

  1. Students are permitted to wear decent coloured dress on birthdays and distribute common chocolates/sweets to their classmates and teachers. However students may not enter or disturb other classes for this purpose.
  2. The school aims to maintain an egalitarian approach towards all students and therefore does not encourage materialistic comparison and competition of any sort. In this context distribution of fancy gifts/ sweets and celebration of birthday’s in class is not permitted.

Staff Tuition Policy

School teachers are not permitted to take tuitions for any student who is directly taught in class by him / her

After – School Practices

  1. No student is permitted to come to school on Sunday / holidays unless the teacher has given a written note. Students coming for practices on Sunday / holidays must be in school uniform or sports students in track suit.
  2. Parents are earnestly requested to pick up their child/ ward when the school ends. Please note that the school is not responsible for anything that happens after school hours, unless the student is specifically called after school hours by the teacher with a written note to the effect.
